PDF full-screenWelcome to the month of April. By the time you are reading this, you will be deep into it. That means I can’t play any April Fool jokes on you. Never been a fan of those anyway. When I was a kid, one of my favorite radio stations announced they were going to be changing formats and playing elevator music, only to announce it was a big April Fool’s Joke.
Another BIG deal in April is TAX day! Unless you're self-employed you have until April 30th. Yep! Deadlines for filing those personal income tax returns. I don’t think most people mind paying taxes as long as they are being put to good use. I think it’s the waste that bothers most citizens.
Both days I mention above are for sure conversation starters, one full of funny stories, the other maybe not so much, but there are few days more memorable than the day you buy your dream home. That day is supposed to be fun, exciting and a great feeling of accomplishment. (see next page)
Here is where you and I can HELP!
(see inside for details)
Therefore, we offer guarantees and assurances to our clients. We call this Our Risk Removal System. Like our Guaranteed Sale Program: Your Home Sold at a Price Agreeable to You or We’ll Buy It*. And our VIP Buyer Satisfaction Guarantee: If You Are Not Happy With Your Home, We Will Sell It For Free!* In fact, our Exclusive Seller Agreements Offer 10 Unprecedented Guarantees. In my experience, these guarantees elevate our service and our clients experience. And by now, four paragraphs into this month’s Homeward Bound, you are wondering how the headline ties into any of this. If you are receiving Homeward Bound for the first time, you will notice we give back to those in our community who need help the most. Like the Kids at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids)! As I'm writing this, SickKids Hospital has a full house of kids with many fighting for their lives. And that is no April Fools joking matter. It’s also likely taxes are the furthest thing from the minds of the parents with kids at SickKids. As you know The Hospital for Sick Children does awesome work in helping kids fight through and survive nasty life-threatening diseases like cancer, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, leukemia and others. They also lead the way in early diagnosis of Autism research and recovery from spinal cord injuries. SickKids Foundation is a charity that raises money on behalf of The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), one of the world's foremost pediatric health-care institutions. They depend on donations to help SickKids deliver the care and support patients and their families count on, from cutting-edge treatments to state-of-the-art surgeries.
Gives Back AND remember, your REFERRALS help the Kids!Just like last year, we are on a mission to raise money for SickKids Hospital. We do this by donating a portion of our income from homes we sell. As you know SickKids Hospital does great work in helping kids fight through and survive nasty life-threatening diseases like cancer, Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, leukemia and others. |

Meet Gabriel. Diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at the age of six months. Infant ALL represents about two per cent of paediatric ALL cases and is not only much harder to treat than childhood leukemia but also has a much lower cure rate. When Gabriel was diagnosed he was very sick and doctors indicated that survival rates for this type of cancer were documented at 40 per cent. Gabriel was admitted to the hospital immediately and spent the next six months almost exclusively in the hospital being closely monitored. Gabriel experienced several long chemo cycles which could only be administered in-hospital. In October 2012, Gabriel was discharged home to continue treatments as an outpatient, although he still comes to the hospital for periodic chemo treatment. He will continue to receive chemo until May 2014. |
